Crystal Dela Cruz
Born and raised in the Bay Area, Crystal fell in love with dance at the age of 5. Although she didn’t have any formal training in her youth, she taught herself choreography from watching music videos, and was very inspired by artists like Michael Jackson.
At the age of 17, she began taking hip-hop and jazz classes at a local dance studio. After high school, she joined San Jose dance company, Booftanomix. She continued to train under Krisuan Rosalejos and the Booftroop company until 2008, and went on to train with Greg Chapkis and Chapkis Dance Family.
Later in 2008, Crystal joined a new company, Soulidified Project, directed by Michael “Mappy” Mappala. Shortly after joining, Crystal founded Silhouette, an all-female dance crew.
Crystal continues to push herself as a dancer, choreographer, and director and wishes to live out her passion, and actively share her love of dance with others. She is always hungry to improve and would love nothing more than to inspire other dancers in her community.
