Allana started dancing at the age of 3 and has trained in a variety of styles including ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, tap, and hip hop at several respected Bay Area dance institutions. She started competing with these institutions at the age of 7 in the styles of jazz, lyrical, tap, and kick line and won two National Championships with the Monta Vista High School Dance Team.
In addition, she has 5 years of experience assisting and subbing dance classes for ages 3 to 10 in the styles of jazz, ballet, and tap, including working with ESL students.
After high school, Allana earned her Bachelors in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University, where she continued dancing through organizations like Dancers’ Symposium and Infra Dance Company. For these organizations, she choreographed routines and taught classes in the styles of jazz and contemporary. Also, as her sorority’s Choreography Chair, she choreographed 15-minute musicals for the annual Greek Sing charity competition.
Since college, Allana has returned to the Bay Area as a Software Engineer at Apple, and she continues to take classes from local dance institutions in her spare time while also teaching at HDC.
